This Privacy Policy applies to the Android application Metadata Eraser, package name com.okdpdc.privacycleaner.
Short summary: Metadata Eraser is designed to help users view and remove metadata from selected image files. The app does not require an account, does not collect personal information, does not sell data, and does not upload your files to our servers.
1. Information We Collect
Metadata Eraser does not collect, store, sell, rent, or share personal information from users.
The app may temporarily read files that you choose from your device so it can display metadata and create a cleaned copy. This processing is performed on your device.
2. Files and Metadata Processed by the App
The app may access images or other supported files only when you select them. Depending on the file, metadata may include information such as camera model, date created, date taken, software tags, orientation, embedded thumbnails, and GPS location data.
This information is used only to show you what metadata exists and to remove metadata when you choose the clean/remove option.
3. No Account or Login Required
Metadata Eraser does not require user registration, login credentials, email address, phone number, or profile information.
4. No Uploads to Our Servers
The app is intended to process selected files locally on your device. We do not operate a server that receives your selected files, extracted metadata, cleaned files, or usage history from the app.
5. App Permissions
The app may request access to files, photos, media, or document picker functionality so that you can choose files for metadata viewing or cleaning. Access is used only for the files you select and only for the functionality you request.
The app does not use these permissions to scan your device, access unrelated files, or collect background data.
6. Third-Party Services
Metadata Eraser does not use third-party advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, tracking SDKs, or data broker services.
If the app is downloaded through Google Play, Google may collect information according to Google Play and Google services policies. That information is handled by Google, not by Metadata Eraser.
7. Data Sharing
We do not share user files, metadata, personal information, or usage data with third parties.
8. Data Retention
Because the app does not collect or transmit personal information to our servers, we do not retain user data on our servers.
Files created by the app, such as cleaned copies, may remain on your device if you choose to save them. You can delete those files at any time using your device file manager or gallery application.
9. Children's Privacy
Metadata Eraser is not directed to children under 13. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Security
The app is designed with privacy in mind by processing selected files locally and avoiding unnecessary data collection. However, no application or device environment can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users should review cleaned files before sharing them publicly.
11. User Choices and Control
You control which files are selected for metadata viewing or cleaning. You can stop using the app at any time, delete cleaned files from your device, or uninstall the app.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are made, the updated policy will be posted at this page with a new effective date.
